Salers Digestive Poster

Reproduction of an old advertising poster for the Salers brand of gentian-based aperitif. This strong alcohol made from gentian root seems to have originated in the Salers region - and a trademark has simply taken the name. This brand of alcohol still exists, but discovering this vintage poster from the 1920s is quite charming. It represents a smiling young woman, dressed in a traditional regional Auvergne costume, who is holding a very large bottle of the Salers brand in her hand. The drawn portrait is quite detailed and stands out against a background of a typical Auvergne landscape with mountains reminiscent of the Puys d'Auvergne chain. We also see a field of gentians, recognizable by the silhouette of their leaves and their very beautiful yellow flowers.Format: 50x70 cm
