Jute comes from the western part of Bengal which produces this natural fiber for all of India and the rest of the world. This naturally golden colored yarn brings an authentic and unique touch to scarves. The mixture of 3 natural fibers allows for an exceptional, very comfortable fit. The weavers of Calcutta The local development organization with which Karawan has entered into a partnership for more than 7 years includes around 200 manual looms which are distributed in village houses around Calcutta. The majority of artisans are women, from spinning to weaving. This know-how is ancestral and each home has a loom which plays an integral part in the daily life of the house. We develop our collections with Shubha, a young Indian imbued with the roots and excellence of the Indian textile tradition. She knows all the stages of manufacturing and coordinates the quality of our proposals with a view to maintaining the tradition but also to making it evolve by adapting it to our creations.
