Laguiole design ebony wood

This Laguiole has been designed with a look that is deliberately similar to the Thiers knife. It's a wink from Auvergne. Made from 2 slabs of ebony wood 0.8 cm thick, shaped by hand to obtain its characteristic curve. The main characteristics of ebony are its high density and very heavy grain. It has been used since antiquity for the manufacture of precious objects. 2 stainless steel plates are engine-turned then riveted between the spring and the handle to ensure better closing flexibility and solidity in use. Blade in 12C27 steel (surgical stainless steel) with a thickness of 3 mm at the heel and a hardness of 56-57 Hrc. It is blunted (removal of beveled material) then sharpened and sharpened. The Spring and Bee are forged from the same piece of steel (Z20C13) then tempered and chiseled with a file. A blade stopper is fixed on the spring to prevent the blade from dulling when closing.
