Latin name: Allium usrinum; Family Liliaceae “ursinum” from Latin which means “bear”; or wild garlic. According to legend, bears ate it when they came out of hibernation in the spring. Many people prefer wild garlic for the subtlety of its taste and smell, it delicately flavors salads and sauces.
