Château De Montfaucon Baron Louis - Rhone Lirac Wine - Rhône Red Wine - Vintage 2018 Château de Montfaucon is a historic estate for wines from the south of the Rhône Valley. The estate extends over 60 hectares and offers Lirac, Côtes du Rhône and Châteauneuf du Pape appellation wines. It was Rodolphe de Pins who took over the Château de Montfaucon in 1995 after learning his skills, notably at the Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe. The estate's latest acquisitions are in the Lirac appellation, including an old Clairette vine, the Lirac blanc de Mme La Comtesse, 140 years old. Yields on the estate range from 25 to 42 hectoliters per hectare. The Château de Montfaucon has a multitude of soils with a majority of limestone pebbles on sandy loam soils and hosts the main grape varieties of the Rhône Valley: Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Viognier, ... Grapes: 50% Garnacha, 15% Syrah, 15% Cinsault, 10% Carignan, 10% Mourvedre.
