Axel is a sculptor raised in the sunny south of France. From a young age, he was fascinated by art and how it could be used to express profound and provocative ideas. He was encouraged by those around him to explore his creativity from a young age.
His sculptures are both impressive and carry a powerful message. Using primarily resin and fiberglass as materials, his most notable works include grenades and brass knuckles, symbols of violence and conflict, but diverted from their primary function to become provocative works of art.
At the heart of his works lies a clear message: “STOP WAR BY ART”. Convinced that art has the power to change mentalities and inspire change, he uses his sculptures as a form of peaceful protest against violence and armed conflict. Each work is imbued with his burning desire to see a world where differences are resolved through dialogue and understanding rather than force and destruction.
For the general public, he wanted to create an accessible candle.
This piece combines the bold aesthetic of a pomegranate with the soothing warmth of a premium candle.
