It is carefully prepared by the Gatare washing station, built in 2008. After hand-picking the cherries, meticulous washing, controlled fermentation, grading and manual sorting, the berries are slowly sun-dried on African beds for about 21 days. This exceptional coffee is made possible thanks to the work of Ikawa, an export company founded in 2019 by Uzziel Habimana and Laetita Mukandahiro. Their mission: to promote Rwandan specialty coffee while guaranteeing fair prices for small producers and impeccable traceability for customers.
