Ground CARVI - eco

Caraway (or meadow cumin) is an annual herbaceous plant of the Apiaceae family, which grows mainly in Europe, Asia and North Africa.

Its seeds, which have a slightly sweet and aromatic flavor, are often used as a spice in European and Asian cuisine.   Caraway seed is used with cabbage and sauerkraut.

Whole or ground, caraway flavors vegetables, potatoes, but also certain cheeses and seasons meats, cold cuts and stews.   Caraway is often confused with cumin (Cuminum cyminum), which is a plant belonging to another botanical family (Apiaceae).

Although both spices are similar in flavor, cumin has a more pungent flavor than caraway.   Caraway seeds are commonly used as a spice in European and Asian cuisine for their characteristic aroma.   Caraway is often used to flavor breads, cakes, cookies and pies.

It can also be used to decorate bread by sprinkling a few seeds on top before baking.   Caraway is often used to flavor soups, stews, sauerkraut, sausages and meat dishes such as pork, beef and lamb.

It is also used in marinades for meat.   Caraway is often used in combination with other spices like coriander, cumin and cardamom to create flavorful spice blends.

It's important to note that caraway has a strong, pungent flavor, so it's best to use it in moderation to avoid overpowering other flavors in a dish.
