It has an ABV of 14.5% and is a unique blend of honey and wine with the sweetness of the honey lingering on the palate. While it has a very pale appearance, the taste of Lindisfarne Mead yields a subtle acidity with a medium body of sweetness. It achieves a dry-sweet balance that gives this drink a more refreshing taste than other meads.
