Massive and severe, the building, a typical example of brutalism, is rather intimidating! This architectural style emerged after the war and is characterized by minimalist constructions, devoid of decoration, where the structural elements are highlighted. The Geisel Library is the main library building on the University of California, San Diego campus. Designed by architect William Pereira and inaugurated in 1970, the building was named in 1995 after the American illustrator Theodor Seuss Geisel.
