Love Welcomes is a creative social enterprise that provides meaningful, compensated work to refugee women. The women are trained and upskilled with weaving who create beautiful home decor and accessories from up-cycled materials including life vests from their journey and discarded blankets. The work and pay give women a sense of productivity and purpose, reducing despair and raising self-esteem. Sales of the products are used to employ women and profits provide access to key services like transportation, legal fees, and food provisions to the community in the camp.

Our vision is to change the perception and treatment of refugees around the world with a response focused on dignity, inclusion, and economic and social well-being. One stitch at a time we are building this community, challenging the inhumane and archaic response models with a loving welcome. It's easy to get discouraged and feel helpless but the normal thing is to welcome, it is transformational for refugees and also for us.
