Maree London was founded in 2004 by Maria Thompson.

“Art& Design has always been a big part of my life and a big passion of mine from a very young age. You would always find me drawing or painting, at school I loved winning the end of year art prizes from my favourite art teacher. My passion for jewellery began while studying sculpture at college where I discovered metalwork, all its beauty, texture, shape, and excitement, and how something so raw could become so pretty. I was so excited to find the path forme within the art world. I graduated in 2001 with a degree in Jewellery and metalsmithing from De Montfort University Leicester. While studying I learned about positive and negative spaces and how the negative space makes up the image as much as the positive. I still use this technic today. I also draw inspiration from nature and the things around me. I love to design simple elegant designs with captivating timeless beauty. Whether I am designing an everyday piece of jewellery to a statement piece of jewellery, I strive to encapsulate all these qualities”.
