My name is Elodie, mother of three children and passionate about photography. For eight years, I practiced photography as a secondary profession. My professional experience spans nearly ten years in the field of mass distribution, where I held the position of manager of the non-food sector, commonly referred to by the acronym MG (General Merchandise). During this time I worked closely with the candle industry.
However, my transition to candle crafting is not simply the result of this experience. Unfortunately, I suffered a serious accident at work which resulted in the loss of my job. This incident left me unable to lift heavy loads and move around properly, due to a severe back fracture. It was during my convalescence that I discovered the fascinating profession of creating artisanal candles, and I decided to embark on this new adventure.
I founded Mariposa Candle, a name largely dedicated to the memory of my mother, who passed away in 2022. The name of my company bears her initials, and in a way, she remains ever present in my thoughts . After numerous experiments, marked by successes and failures, my first perfumes finally saw the light of day. I am extremely proud of these accomplishments.
