These Ethiopian natural grade 1 coffee beans come from the Suke Quto farm (Guji, 1800 – 2200m) of Tesfaye Bekele. This farmer grew up among coffee, went to college and worked as a conservationist for the government in the region he came from. After major forest fires, Tesfaye saw in coffee a way to help the region get back on its feet. He handed out coffee plants, but he didn't get people with him. That is why he started as a coffee farmer himself. 171 neighboring 'coffee farmers' now supply the coffee cherries to his farm. He also has 200ha where he grows his own coffee. He uses the biological residual flows to optimally feed the soil on his farm. We roast this organic coffee in such a way that you can make it both as espresso and as a filter.
