De Naeckte Brouwers brewery was founded in 2011 by Michel Lagrand and Ab van der Veen with the idea of brewing the new beer from the past. What once started as a hobby and a passion, namely brewing beer at home, grew into a serious activity in 2013 with the opening of the first brewhouse in Amstelveen.
The Netherlands, a country with a rich beer history, had grown into a lager desert and the craft of the trade had been lost. Michel and Ab intended to restore this craft and, with a love for old, classic beer styles, to breathe new life into the art of brewing and to offer people quality beers. It was the beginning of a wonderful beer adventure.
