As the name suggests, Bancha means “ordinary tea” in Japan, it is the everyday green tea. Its large leaves come from the lower shoots of the tea plant, they are rich in minerals but very low in caffeine (70% less than Gyokuro). Its taste is sweet, with a subtly herbaceous character.
