-- Inspired by a journey --

Perus was born in 2014 from a trip with friends to Peru.
Charmed by this country and its culture, Armand, Nicolas and Henri were looking for a way to share it with the world through a unifying product. At the bend of a market in Cusco, they come across pairs of sneakers with Inca motifs. Blow of heart, the Perús product was found!

-- The social project --

During their journey, they meet Jean Gabriel Cabot, co-founder of the association Los Chicos de Cusco, which financially supports local schools. Convinced that education is a sustainable way to participate in the development of this region, they are betting on taking part in the project. For a pair purchased, one school day would be funded! Today, this credo applies to all the products in our catalog and we are very proud to have become one of the association's main donors!

-- Showtime! --

After several months of research and development, Perus is launched in crowdfunding on the Ulule site. The goal was quickly reached and their campaign even beat the platform record that year, being supported by more than 1,500 contributors from all over the world! The Perus adventure could begin!

-- Our values--

We created Perus with the desire to promote a certain mode of production and consumption. Since our beginnings, we have carried the idea of sustainable fashion, concerned about its footprint on the environment, respectful of its craftsmen and ultimately of our customers.

--Know-how--

For this, we value established know-how and select our materials with care. We favor the use of GOTS-certified organic cotton and our alpaca wool comes from extensive farms where animal welfare is paramount. Our leather complies with the REACH standard and we favor Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tanneries which supervise its origin and treatment in order to guarantee its harmlessness to human health and the environment. Finally, each of our craftsmen is paid fairly and their working time does not exceed the legal standard.

--Commitments--

In order to combine ecological commitment with our social commitment, in 2020 we relocated part of our production to Portugal. In 2021, we also joined the "En Mode Climat" coalition to challenge public authorities and demand regulation of the fashion industry.
