The burning barn in Solihull near Birmingham was such a turning point for the Jenner family - the father's previous candied apple business became a company that now produces a great, smoky rum with a fruity Braeburn note, which the famous London department store Harrods in took up his assortment. This is of course the ultimate title of nobility for any spirit. The rum is produced in the Diamond Distillery outside of Guyana's lively capital, Georgetown. The Demerara Rum is a mix of column and pot still: The stills used to make the rum are a mix of French Savalle, Wooden Coffey and Double Wodden Coffey (also known as Port Mourant). After the distillation, the rum is stored for three years in former American oak bourbon barrels. After the barrel resting in the Caribbean sun, the distillate is shipped to England and bottled by hand. A real craft rum made from natural ingredients and without smuggled sugar. For example, wood from apple trees that the family planted over 30 years ago is used to smoke in the "Smoked Rum". The rum is cold infused with the smoke of the apple wood before it is bottled.
