Puppy's story begins with Peyo and the Smurfs.
The little blue fellows quickly gained wide popularity and Véronique Culliford, daughter of the author, Peyo, took charge of their commercial operation, which allowed Peyo to devote herself entirely to creation.
In 1984, Véronique founded International Merchandising, Promotion and Services (I.M.P.S), a company that manages and exploits the rights of the Smurfs.
In 1992, Peyo died. But his work has since been continued by a talented team of designers and screenwriters from the IMPS studio who create the new designs and stories.

In 1985, Véronique created the company Puppy (in reference to the Baby Smurf dog), which produces and distributes Smurf figurines and soft toys in the Benelux.
The Schleich company, which has been manufacturing the world-famous Smurf figurines since 1965, is thus becoming the flagship brand of Puppy, not only for the Smurfs but also for its entire range.
Today, Puppy has diversified its activities and distributes several brands of toys in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. All products, whether Smurfs or not, have been handpicked due to their quality and of the educational value they convey.
Since its inception in 1985, Puppy has continued to evolve and today consists of a dynamic team of around fifteen people.
At the end of 2019, Puppy acquired the Macovi company and now benefits from an even wider and more varied range of toys.
In 2021, the distribution of Macovi will be absorbed by Puppy.
