Shepherd is a quality pocket self defense alarm with a 130dB siren (louder than a jackhammer) and a flashing strobe light to deter attacks and attract attention.
My heart's mission is to create a safe world for women and to make every woman feel protected, brave and confident at all times. In my opinion, everyone has the right to feel safe anywhere, anytime.
I was a scaredy-cat. I was afraid to go for a walk alone in the dark, afraid to take the subway in the evening after a nice girls' night out and unfortunately I'm not the only one with this fear. Because no woman feels completely safe in her city. Every woman has pretended to be on the phone with a friend to avoid being alone. Every woman has taken a detour to avoid dark streets. That's not paranoid, because in Germany every second woman is a victim of sexual harassment. So it can happen to anyone - our friends, daughters, sisters, even ourselves. This is heartbreaking and I wanted to fight my fear and feeling of insecurity.
Then I saw that the police recommend pocket alarms. Small sirens that can be triggered in case of danger. I then looked at what was available on the market and the alarms are cheaply made, there is a risk of false triggers and, in my opinion, they are just really ugly. You don't want to wear that as a woman.
That's when I thought, there must be a way to do it better, and that's why I founded shepherd.
In order to make a further contribution to my heart's mission, I donate part of the profit to my partner organizations with every shepherd sold. These are eight women's emergency hotlines/houses that are passionate about the protection and safety of women.

The name: shepherd means shepherd dog and, like the shepherd dog, is your constant companion with a strong protective instinct and "barks" for attention and help if you need it or are in danger.
