Isola is a mix-metal layered necklace, part of the Sinking Gold Collection. The pendant is in sterling silver, the sphere in recycled 9ct gold and the chain is Gold Filled. Gold filled pieces are more durable than gold plated ones, as they have a thicker layer of gold instead of thin one. The thick layer is comprised of many thin sheets of gold. CARING FOR STERLING SILVER Sterling silver jewellery, if not worn for long periods of time, may develop a patina, which can be easily removed with a silver polishing cloth, available in all diy stores. If you want to “do it yourself”, here's a way: ***wet the silver piece in water, apply a small amount of fluoride toothpaste on the silver. Rub the toothpaste into the silver slowly, keeping it wet. Rub it until the toothpaste turns into a greysh dark colour. Let it sit for about 2 minutes. Wash away the toothpaste. The silver will show immediate improvement***
