DOMAINE DU PETIT BONHOMME - Le Pitre - Natural wine - Red wine - France - Provence

During our visit this year to the 1.7 hectare “Petit” domaine of Fabien Chanavas and his three beautiful women - his wife Laure and their two daughters - we were, as always, pampered and fed in the most heartfelt way. For every natural wine, there was a suitable dish. Between courses we visited the Vin de Garage wine cellar and labeling office, which was part of the kitchen. Here, family business and “handmade” - all labels are stuck on by hand - are still very important and celebrated with absolute dedication. Domaine du Petit Bonhomme Le Pitre (the Clown) is made from 100% Grenache Noir grapes, unfiltered and without any added sulfites. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 6 months in barrique barrels (500 L). I challenge you to feel grumpy in the company of this natural wine - which you certainly won't be able to do. Notes of black and red currants, strawberries and plums, but also smoked meat and leather, yet light and energetic enough to be enjoyed as a soloist. Minutes later, super-soft tannins develop that keep the taste in the mouth for an eternity”. Just 1200 bottles of this 2019 vintage were produced with a lot of love and we are very happy to be the exclusive importer for the German-speaking region. Perfect with: light dishes or spicy noodles or rice. Enjoy this garage wine slightly chilled at 14-16 °C, preferably in a Josephine N°3 glass.
