At Valtravieso we make wines that bear the imprint of the terroir that sees them born together with a style typical of the house. Wines with their own identity, elegant, vertical and deep, where the wood accompanies, but does not mask the personality of the grape.

We take care of our vineyards in an ecological way, through manual work, with the utmost respect and minimal intervention, without herbicides or insecticides, and selecting the best quality grapes in the vineyard itself. Our goal is to make wines that reflect the personality and identity of each area.

The origin of Valtravieso is in the D.O. Ribera del Duero and we are one of the first wineries in the area with its own vineyard located in one of the highest limestone moors in the region at an altitude of 915m. From this unique place, at Valtravieso we pursue the highest quality in all processes, with minimal intervention both in the field and in its preparations.

Our love for the land and the wine that is born from it, together with the constant restlessness and passion that moves us, have led us to look beyond our closest environment to see the Viñedos Olvidados de Valtravieso project come to life; A work focused on rescuing traditional vineyard areas that require special care and pampering, discovering their hidden treasures and giving our best version of their native varieties without forgetting the identity of each area.

Today, as Valtravieso Bodegas y Viñedos we present a range of wines that come from 5 D.O. with very different climates and soils.

DO. Ribera del Duero. Páramo vineyards with poor and shallow limestone soil at altitude, with an extreme climate, constant winds and low rainfall.

DO. Wheel. Old pre-phylloxera vineyard located in one of the highest altitude areas of the D.O. Poor, sandy and gravelly soils with a lot of pebbles in the older vines.

DO. Arlanza. Centennial glass vineyards, located in Covarrubias and submerged in a dreamlike landscape. Poor, very old and quite deep soils around 1,000m altitude.

DO. Jumilla. Vineyards on bare foot at around 800m, settled on limestone soils that breathe a continental climate with Mediterranean influence.

DO. Bank of the Jucar. Vineyards at an altitude of 750m, marked by high temperature contrasts between summer and winter. Deep soils, of clay-calcareous matter covered by a spectacular mantle of rounded pebbles.
