At 18, Friedrich Schatz (Federico) was clear on two things: first, he wanted to be a winemaker (the family trade), and second, he didn't want to do it at home in Germany. It was the year 1982 and so he began his journey to find the ideal place. He considered different countries and regions, and finally chose Spain, specifically Ronda, geographically located on the Mediterranean but with strong Atlantic influences.
In the heart of Andalusia, the Serranía de Ronda is an area where the Iberians and later the Romans cultivated vineyards in the ancient city of Acinipo.
We are the first organic winery in the province of Malaga and pioneers in Ronda. In our 3 hectares of vineyards planted with 8 varieties, we produce 6 long-lasting, organic, biodynamic, natural wines without added sulfites, with a controlled production of 15.000 bottles per year.
