Montegaredo was founded in the 90s and is the result of the work of three generations. It is located in the town of Boada de Roa (Burgos), 5 kilometers from the headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the D.Z. Ribera del Duero, a privileged and historic location for vineyard cultivation. In fact, the first vineyards are documented in the 10th century and belonged to the Cluniac Monastery of Boada, where the winery is located.
We have 80 hectares of our own vineyards, located at an average altitude of 840 meters and ranging in age from 25 to 90 years.
At an altitude of over 800 meters, nature and the passage of time have shaped a soil with exceptional characteristics. The soil is made up of limestone, clay, and stony layers, which give the wines elegance, complexity, and character.
The Tempranillo grape is the queen variety of the Ribera del Duero DO. With its medium-sized bunches, it shows exceptional adaptation. As for its aromas, blackberries and black forest fruits stand out.
