At the end of the summer of 1999, Pierre Signolle took over Château Vieux Landat. After working 10 years in viticulture, he is ready to embark on a new adventure. Then began a vast modernization project.
The vineyard is rejuvenated over the years. From 2000 to 2010, half of the vineyard was replanted with a majority of Merlot in order to create rounder wines and a new grape variety was introduced, Petit Verdot.
After the vine, the cellar is, in turn, redesigned. A large cellar of 1200 m2 is built to accommodate the harvest in the best conditions. Temperature-controlled vats are installed to vinify the harvest cold.
In 2015, Sophie Signolle, wife of Pierre, and her children, Nicolas and Diane, took over the management of the vineyard by continuing to invest in both the cellar and the vineyard.

Organic viticulture is practiced in Vieux Landat. The permanent grass in the middle of the row allows microbial life in the soil. Below the row of vines, weeding is mechanical. The objective is, on the one hand, to give vigor to the vine by avoiding competing weeds and, on the other hand, to ventilate the foliage and the bunches to prevent the development of diseases.
During the dormant months of the vine, it is our sheep that maintain our vines.
