In 1950, Huguette and Angelo Fontana, then aged around twenty, had a dream in mind and settled in the small Gironde town of Gensac to found Domaines Fontana.
They did not choose Gensac by chance. It was the wealth of the land that determined the establishment of their vineyard. Then begins the work of a lifetime, Huguette and Angelo plant vines and build a winery.
The years and vintages pass and it's not just vines growing around them, Huguette and Angelo had 5 children (4 boys and 1 girl). These children, who grew up in the heart of the Domaine, inherited their parent's passion. The Fontana boys decided to expand the family heritage and in turn purchased plots of neighboring vines, and each invested in the different trades present on the Estate.
Over the generations, this heritage has grown, and today, the grandchildren have in turn joined the Fontana Estates, which in 2021 extends over more than 300 hectares. They bring with them their modernity, their fresh perspective, their dynamism, and their youth, in a common desire to share this passion for vines and wine.
They then created a commercial company: making their wine known, reaching as many consumers as possible, and constantly boosting their sales force, also became one of their priorities. The Fontana Family still has so many ideas and things to help you discover with the main objective of achieving the highest level of quality by perpetuating a tradition tinged with modernity and dynamism.
The constant success of their production is confirmed each year in various professional competitions where the wines of Domaines Fontana are often rewarded with medals and other distinctions.
