The Cigalus Gérard Bertrand red wine is a top-of-the-range cuvée with an impressive balance between spices and ripe fruit. It also develops a very nice acidity. This Gérard Bertrand wine displays a superb intense garnet red color with a subtle mahogany-coloured border. It reveals an intense nose of exceptional complexity where jammy black fruits, spices, toasted oak, spices and truffles mingle. The Gérard Bertrand Cigalus Red cuvée reveals an opulent and luxuriant mouth. The notes of black fruits reappear with a complex empyreumatic framework that leads to menthol aromas. Its attack is frank, oily and unctuous. Its tannins are present, melted and coated. This cuvée was the official wine of the Nobel Ceremony banquet in 2018. Many grape varieties were used for its production: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache Carignan, Caladoc.
