KISHUROMAN Umeshu Premium Japanese Plum Liqueur

Very fine and less sweet than average umeshu! The aromas of ripe yellow fruits are intense, mixed with pastry notes of vanilla and wood that bring complexity to the nose. The mouth is very pretty: we start with a controlled sweetness going towards an aromatic mid-palate carried by a superb acidity, with a nice balance between sweetness and alcohol. We find the yellow fruits accompanied here by touches of dried fruits. Sujimoto Noen is a small plum producer from Wakayama, a region known throughout Japan for growing this fruit. It is also one of the few plum producers to produce its own umeshu plum liqueur. Mr. Sujimoto makes a careful selection of his fruits, which he macerates for several months in a rice shochu, before letting them rest for several years in vats. Everything is finally clarified using a secret method before bottling, for a result of unparalleled finesse and refinement.
