A premium and incomparable umeshu, the fruit of the meticulous work of one of the very few liqueur producers who cultivate their own plums! The nose is particularly complex: the aromas of yellow fruits evolve towards vanilla and white flowers. In the mouth, we start with a nice sweetness, followed by a very pleasant sensation brought by a great control of acidity and alcohol. We end on notes of saffron with a superb bitterness that lengthens the mouth. Arimoto Farm is a small family business that has been practicing arboriculture for several generations in Wakayama, a region known throughout Japan for the superior quality of its plums. This is one of the 5 producers in the country to produce its own umeshu from its own fruit. This considerable advantage allows him to select the plums by feeling them one by one in order to keep only those whose maturity is considered correct! This meticulous selection work is repeated three times: during harvest, after arrival in the warehouse, and finally after 4 days of maturation. In the end, only the most perfect fruits go into making this nectar, which is bottled after two to three years of ageing. This precious umeshu is produced in very limited quantities: between 1,500 and 4,000 bottles are marketed each year.
