For more than 160 years the city of Pécs has maintained its status as the European capital of glove making. Traditional techniques were passed on from one generation to the next, even in the most turbulent of times.
In our recently renovated historical atelier, under the name 1861 Glove Manufactory, we cultivate our know-how and innovation in the art of leather, made in Hungary.
All of our gloves are table cut, one by one, according to the French tradition of glove making dating back to the 17th century. The leathers are all ethically sourced from the best tanneries of Italy and France. All the gloves are either lined in silk or cashmere.
Every day we are mesmerized by the complexity of this seemingly simple, classic accessory: from noble materials and manufacturing to the special combination of utility and style. This drives our passion to create the finest leather gloves for discerning customers from all around the world.
