"Unfortunately, our story did not start in 1915, but some 100 years later in the spring of 2015. At the kitchen table of our parental home, we were inspired by wooden sunglasses. We loved it so much that you could wear glasses made of wood. So we started looking for more possibilities with wood. Soon we came across wooden watches. Everything that existed was just boring and much too expensive.
This is where our mission to make durable wooden watches sexy and fashionable and to offer them at a fair price began. In May 2015, 1915 watches were registered with the Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam and we invested all our savings in the first 150 watches. After the launch in June 2015, the media became interested in our start-up story and even became the first store to become a dealer."
