Biophytum is the legacy of Parfumerie Monternier, a company that was founded during the Belle Époque, in the city of Montpellier. It benefited directly from the influence of its Jardin des Plantes, the oldest in France, frequented since 1841 by a host of botanists, apothecaries, doctors and pharmacists from all over the world.
