Lilienthal Normalsegelapparat

About 400 years after Leonardo da Vinci's studies and experiments on flight, observing the flight of birds in nature, a handful of men shares the same passion. These pioneers conceived of human flight in a way very close to that of Leonardo, managing, at the end of the 1800s, to make their machines fly. Among these is Otto Lilienthal (1848-1896). His studies are based on the observation of the stork's wings and on gliding. It was the first who managed to hover in the air. We do not know if there could be any connections between Leonardo and Lilienthal, but in those years, Leonardo's 'Code on the flight of birds' was printed for the first time. Lilienthal transforms his passion into a business, designing and building a whole series of gliders, now exhibited at the Otto Lilienthal Museum in Anklam Germany. Our scale model was developed thanks to an accurate study of materials and construction techniques in close collaboration with the Otto Lilienthal Museum. Dimensions 70 x 50 x 25 Gr. No. of components 82
