Uganda Red Vanilla Beans are vanilla beans that are drier than other grades, but are also loaded with vanillin. This means that they contain a higher concentration of vanillin, which is responsible for the characteristic flavor and aroma of vanilla. We invite you to rehydrate these vanilla pods in a base of alcohol to triple their volume and keep them for years (see photo dark = rehydrated, light = received before rehydration). Some pods may be split because they are picked over-ripe from the vanilla bush (peak of vanilla aromas).
