The award-winning product range from the 200-year-old Avadis Distillery, infused with Riesling grapes from the 275-year-old VDP winery Forstmeister Geltz Zilliken owes its name to the Royal Prussian forest master Ferdinand Geltz, one of the historical co-founders of the VDP Mosel Saar Ruwer - the most renowned association of German predicates - Wineries. The rough Devonian slate soils of the large steep slate slopes of the Saarburger Rausch and the cool climate of the Saar form the perfect basis for the first Riesling vermouth in the world. The minerality and fruit of the Saar Riesling, the bitterness of the vermouth and the floral, spicy aromas of the regional herbs and flowers give this batch of vermouth wine from the Saar valley its unique lightness and elegance.
