Aigle Royal Chardonnay 2020 Domaine de l'Aigle is a 47-hectare property beautifully located in the northernmost part of the Haute Vallée de l'Aude vineyard, between 250 and 500 meters above sea level. We produce wines of great finesse from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Viala 2020 The Viala comes from a plot of Château Laville Bertrou, located on an exceptional terroir within the very qualitative appellation of La Livinière (officially recognized in 1998), synonymous with great Languedoc wines. This extraordinary terroir, acquired by Gérard Bertrand in 1997, makes it possible to produce powerful and distinctive wines that collect awards. Benefiting from a Mediterranean, semi-arid climate with a temperate winter variant, the Viala faces south on the heights of the village of La Livinière at approximately 120 m altitude. The soil is made up of a mosaic of stripped marl, associated with calcareous sandstone, as well as compact limestone dating from the Eocene (Tertiary era). This type of terroir naturally limits the production of each vine, and allows it to resist low rainfall and water stress thanks to deep rooting. The slow ripening of the grapes is thus favored thanks to the significant amount of sunshine. The three grape varieties blended for this cuvée express in a complementary and nuanced way this unique terroir that is Viala. L'Hospitalitas 2021 Overlooking the Mediterranean by a hundred meters, the Château l'Hospitalet vineyard benefits from exceptional climatic conditions (semi-arid Mediterranean climate, with mild winter variant). The heat and sunshine, attenuated by the altitudinal gradient, offer possibilities for slow maturation from September to October, favorable to the aromatic expression and finesse of the tannins. The Hospitalitas plot, located in the heart of the vineyard, at the base of a 30-meter cliff which protects it from the north wind, benefits from a microclimate. The exceptional character of this vintage comes from the fact that the plot is located on the two terroirs that make up our vineyard: the marl-limestone soils of the Gargasien, rich in fossils, which provide the vines with a supply of water throughout the summer. despite the absence of summer rains; the red Mediterranean soils of the Barremien formed on the compact bluish gray limestones conquered from the scrubland, which allow the production of rich and concentrated wines. The blend of these two grape varieties gives this cuvée a beautiful aromatic expression, tonicity and remarkable aptitude for aging, fruit and roundness.
