SPILINGA NDUJA SPREADABLE - 500G

Nduja is the most famous and well-known cured meat in Calabria.   It represents a symbol of recognition throughout the world on a par with the Tropea onion and bergamot.   Unique products made only in Calabria!   Nduja was born in the Spilinga (VV) area but, unlike bergamot which is produced exclusively in the lower Reggio area, this cured meat is handcrafted with expert hands and ancient traditions in different areas of Calabria. Our Nduja is prepared using a trio of pork meat (guanciale, bacon and lard) minced with Calabrian red chilli pepper and with the addition of a modest quantity of salt.   After careful processing, everything is stuffed into natural casings, naturally smoked and subjected to slow maturation. Traditionally the 'nduja is melted in a rudimentary saucepan (called NDUJA WARMER) similar to an essence burner which has a hole inside which a candle is placed as in the photo.   Once melted, it is spread on slices of toasted bread and enjoyed as is. ANDa sausage with a semi-spicy flavor and a very strong aroma.   It has a creamy and therefore spreadable consistency, used a lot in cooking, in first courses as well as in appetizers and on bruschetta.   The main nutritional properties of 'nduja derive from the presence of chili pepper.   The latter, in fact, is rich in vitamins A, C, E, K and group B, as well as mineral salts such as potassium and copper and lecithin.   Thanks to these nutrients, it increases resistance to infections and improves blood circulation. Available in 250, 400 g formats.   Nduja is a sausage with a semi-spicy flavor and a very strong aroma.   It has a creamy and therefore spreadable consistency, used a lot in cooking, in first courses as well as in appetizers and on bruschetta. Today, however, it is also used to add flavor to ragù, sauces and, why not, even on pizza!
