Utopian and original Aquarius are attracted to warm citrusy scents so we’ve created a bitter with an equal balance of grapefruit, lavender and vanilla with the bitter components of burdock, gentian and dandelion roots. It’s fresh and exciting and at the same time quite warm. Agave is added for sweetness. Bitter-tasting food and drink are gaining popularity as we recognize the sweetening of our culture has not served us well. With their long history in the healing arts in Asia and the Indian subcontinent, we in the west are rediscovering the health benefits of bitter tastes. The bitter components in food work with the bitter taste receptors on our tongues to stimulate the production of gastric acid in the stomach, readying it for ideal digestion.
