Bread basket, oval, hand-woven from palm

Beautiful hand-woven palm bread basket. Our traditional palm baskets have been handcrafted by the Jobe family in Mariama Kunda, Gambia for several generations. Father and son produce in their own farm - their baskets are woven from the branches of the palm tree. The robust baskets are untreated and not painted. This basket is ideal as a bread basket or as a decorative object, but also for storing smaller items or food such as onions, garlic or ginger. Should the basket ever get damp or wet, it can easily be brought back into shape in this state and dries completely again.
