LES COTEAUX DE LA VéZéRE THE RARE WINES OF THE PAYS DE BRIVE "I am the roaring force of the Corréze, whose intensity bursts into a fault of red sandstone or slate. I am the purity of the Vézére, whose waters hollow out from the origins a valley of life, the Valley of Man. I am the deep vine, which takes root in the nobility of the slate shale until the times of lords and popes. I am the wisdom and courage of men, those who remember the hard-working monks and daring merchants, those who set out to revive a pioneering vineyard with Chenin and Cabernet Franc grape varieties. I am the wine of the Coteaux de la Vézére The wine of the Pays de Brive. "COTEAUX DE LA VEZERE : A PRECURSOR VINEYARDOn slate and schist soil, typical of the Pays de Brive, the Coteaux de la Vézére cellar produces mineral and elegant whites, with a unique grape variety in the South-West: Chenin. We are the first to have planted this fragile and delicate white grape variety, emblematic of the Loire Valley, in Corréze. Grown organically and in sustainable viticulture, harvested by hand, it gives elegant, mineral, full-bodied whites & Who could believe the Corréze capable of such wines? Yet the terroir of the Pays de Brive has this exceptional soil quality, recognized for many years. centuries by its wine history. We recreated the Coteaux de la Vézére vineyard not to bring the past back to life, but to learn from it, with the desire to make new renowned wines. CORRéZE KNOW-HOW: AN EXCELLENT CRAFTSMAN Since its birth, the Coteaux de la Vézére cellar has been built around a requirement for quality. From the cultivation of the vine to the bottling, we control every step of the production of our wines. ORGANIC AND REASONED We practice sustainable viticulture, which has banned all risky products (especially those containing CMR agents). And we limit weeding to preserve our soils. On the sometimes very steep slopes of our hillsides, we harvest by hand. The main stages of vine management are also done by hand (leaf stripping, suckering &). Each new plot is now planted and cultivated organically. PARCELLAR VINIFICATION All our wines are vinified in the cellar, in the heart of the village of Saillant, at the foot of the slopes of the Vézére. Our recent cellar is equipped with thermoregulated stainless steel vats of small capacities: we carry out vinification by grape variety and by plot. These plot-based vinifications allow us to select the quality of the berries: the best are worked in single-varietal vintages during remarkable years. Our S nologist is present full time to direct the winemaking. They are made under the wise advice of the great S nologist Jacques Puisais, who has been in charge of blending since the creation of the cellar. RARE WINES If we want to develop our vineyard, our cuvées are still produced in small quantities. Each wine is the fruit of meticulous, almost artisanal work, which reflects the intensity of a year. Our wines are unoaked, to stay on the minerality of their slate schist terroir. THE VINEYARDS OF LA CORREZE The winegrowers that we are today have 100% Corrèze roots. Passionate about our terroir, in love with this landscape of green hills, we got together to revive a wine-growing know-how, which, in the end, has never died out. In Corréze, a few estates, a few families have always continued to make wine. Jacques Puisais, eminent S nologist, creator of the Institut du Goét, and consultant S nologist of our cellar, ensures that the wine must have the mouth of the place and the guts of man. Wine is therefore not just a cold question of technicality or process to be respected. If we always aim to improve our know-how, with the will to give ourselves the means to do so, it is our heart that we put into each of our wines. Our vision, our history, our ambition, our learning, our perseverance in replanting hillsides that are sometimes inclined by 30 degrees. Our wines tell it all at once. They are the wines of the new winegrowers and winegrowers of Corréze.
