Ground JAMAICAN PEPPER - eco

Allspice is a spice native to the island of Jamaica in the Caribbean. Contrary to what its name might suggest, it is not a pepper, but rather a dried berry from the Pimenta dioica tree. Allspice berries have a warm, sweet and spicy flavor and aroma, with hints of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. This is why it is often used in Caribbean cuisine to flavor savory and sweet dishes, including marinades, stews, sauces and desserts. Allspice is also known as "allspice" due to its taste that is reminiscent of several other spices at the same time. Allspice is one of the spices that make up gingerbread. It flavors cakes, compotes and chocolates and chutneys for sweet and sour combinations. But its berries are widely used for marinades of shellfish and fish (the Swedes use them for herring) or for marinades for meats intended for the barbecue (jerk cuisine in Jamaica). The leaves of the pepper myrtle, the tree that gives the berries, can easily replace the bay leaves. Fragrant but not spicy, it goes perfectly with all kinds of meat (game, marinades, poultry, etc.), sauces, rice, fruit, compotes, flans, etc.
