Made in Carcere promotes a "" model of regenerative economy "", which is good for everyone: the individual, the community and the environment - transforming detention into a multiplicity of values, such as personal re-education, the abatement of recidivism and environmental sustainability.
In fact, the materials with which the Made in Carcere artifacts are sewn receive a new life: they are fabrics donated by generous and shiny companies which, instead of discarding them, flooding the disposal and pollution system, prefer to ensure that these relive under the hands of those who try, every day, to rebuild their lives and regain integrity.
In the Officina Creativa tailors, the waste materials of partner companies are collected and transformed into new solidarity products and personalized gadgets for events and conferences - all handmade by women inmates. In addition, Made in Carcere has also started a pastry shop inside the Carcere per Minori di Bari where certified organic biscuits made with the highest quality ingredients are produced.
