The German Navy's sailing training ship Gorch Fock is known worldwide for its sailing performance and beauty. The prospective naval officers collect their first nautical miles on the Gorch Fock and undergo tough and demanding training. Our skipper David also collected his first formative nautical miles under sail on the Gorch Fock. In addition to his first experiences on board a sailing ship and overcoming his fear of heights in the company of good friends, he drank rum for the first time. The ritual in which the crew receives their ration of rum after successful training is a truly special maneuver drink. On the Gorch Fock, however, the ritual is not called “maneuver swallow” but “jib sheet on”. The content of the Design Edition is the same as that of the Manöverschluck Jamaica: delicious rum from Jamaica refined with butterscotch and sun-ripened mandarins.
