René Magritte - This is not an apple

1964, Ceci n'est pas une pomme: It is not the first time that Magritte denies in the title what is depicted in the painting; as with the famous pipe, in this work too the author wants to emphasize the illusory character of art: the painted apple is not an apple, it remains a painting.
