Vincent van Gogh - Garden of the Saint-Paul Hospital

Van Gogh probably had only a small supply of paint left when he painted this picture in Saint-Rémy. He also ran out of canvas. For this view of the institution’s garden, he used diluted oil paint on cardboard. He had only recently arrived and was not yet allowed to work outside the garden walls.
