I have spent a large part of my life working in the fashion sector and exploring its industry from different perspectives: from the technical and theoretical to the design, from the industrial and international to the artisan and local. Before having my daughter, I worked in the product department at Hoss Intropia and had to travel to Asia to monitor production.
When I had my daughter my priorities changed. Raising her alone I put her needs first. This made me reflect on how the issue of care is managed in society, which is seen as a primarily female role and encourages men to be much less present in the evolution of the family.
During the first few years I wanted to play the roles of designer, salesperson, mother, daughter, housewife, friend and even teacher from time to time, all in the same day, so organization became essential to be able to do everything and be prepared for the unexpected.
Later I learned to accept that there are 24 hours in a day and that you can't be everywhere. I sorted out my priorities and created ninu Bags, a brand that focuses on balancing family and work life thanks to different modular bags and accessories that, thanks to their versatile structure and compartmentalized interiors, help you cover all your roles without wasting time looking for things inside the bag.
Ninu Bags proposes a change that benefits us all and that is why the bags are modular and genderless, so that you can share them as a couple and thus break the limiting beliefs about fatherhood and motherhood by creating your concept of family from within and adapting the accessories to your lifestyle.
Ninu means “inside” in Yoruba. By looking inside, we discover how we want to be ourselves, what tools we have to achieve this by connecting with nature and with others to achieve the common benefit.
We would love for you to join our ninu Family and share how you experience caregiving. What do you like to care for most?¿How do you like to take care of yourself?¿who takes care of you?
