Aquavit APTEKARSKY - 45° - 50 cl

Aquavit, the Scandinavian spirit par excellence, is sometimes little known to the general public. 

Its name, Aquavit Aptekarksy, is a nod to Aptekarsky Island, in Russian “Apothecaries Island” which is located off the coast of Saint Petersburg on the Baltic Sea. 

This island has been home to the oldest botanical garden in Russia for centuries. ÉMade from caraway, it was natural for us to adapt this spirit to our plant terroir of the Alsatian Vosges by combining meadow cumin with our regional botanicals. 

Aquavit Aptekarsky is the first French aquavit.

 This “aqua vitae” – brandy in Latin, is made by maceration of caraway seeds (cumin), dill, anise, coriander, fennel and rhubarb in neutral alcohol. during 3 weeks. 

After distillation, the aquavit is reduced to the degree using Steige spring water; of great purity because it is naturally filtered by the Vosges schist; with a cold filtration to perfect the manufacturing. Tasting notes: • Nose: very vegetal, caraway, anise and dill dominate • Mouth: round, fennel and coriander appear • Finale: rhubarb and anise remain present in final notes Usage tips : - Pure as an aperitif or digestive – can be served chilled - In cocktails - In the kitchen with fish specialties
