The doe is the female of the deer, whose real name is the red deer, the best-known representative of the cervid family. This magnificent mammal, with its crepuscular and even nocturnal habits, lives mainly in the temperate forests of Europe, North Africa, Asia and North America. The doe, less impressive than the stag, can measure up to 1.30 m at the withers and weigh between 67 and 100 kg. The species lives only in groups within herds which consist of one male and around sixty females.
