Considered a national symbol of wildlife in Costa Rica and Honduras, the white-tailed doe, like the deer, is one of the most common mammals in the Americas. Once adult, it can measure up to 1m at the withers and weigh up to 60kg. Once the breeding period is over, the female's gestation can last up to 205 to 216 days, or 7 months. A single litter can have 1 to 3 pups, each weighing between 2 and 4 kg at birth.
